Behind every pair of boots and shoes that goes with you through your everyday steps lies a lovely story of precision, craftsmanship and plenty of care. The process is long and meticulous: over 100 hand operations go into a single pair! We invite you on a full walk through our factory to discover all our secrets.
Behind the scenes
It all starts in the minds of our pattern makers. Before the leather is ever touched, the design is drawn and the flat patterns and 3D lasts are created that give the shoe its shape and perfect fit. The foundation of comfort is born here!
Precision to the millimetre
Once the patterns are approved, we select the finest leathers. With the help of cutting-edge technology such as our Atom FlashCut electronic cutting machine, we make the most of every centimetre of leather, so the first pieces come out perfect, clean and ready.
Skiving and numbering · behind the scenes
Before stitching, the cut pieces go through a «fine-tuning» stage. The edges of the leather are skived so there are no thick seams that could bother the foot, and internal codes are marked (numbering) so that every piece knows exactly which partner it goes with.
Craftsmen's hands at the seam
Time to put the puzzle together! This is where the skill of our craftsmen comes into play, guiding the leather under the needle with a steady hand and patience to shape the body (or vamp) of the shoe and join it to its inner lining. Every stitch counts to guarantee maximum durability!
Giving the shoe its shape
At this stage, the shoe starts to look like a shoe. The reinforcements (such as the heel counter) are added, and the upper leather is fitted and firmly fixed to the last using specialised machinery. It is the key moment when the footwear goes from flat to taking on that characteristic, elegant silhouette.
Behind the scenes
And the sole? After roughing the underside of the leather so the grip is unbreakable, adhesive is applied to both the shoe and the sole. They pass through a hot oven that activates the glue and, with a high-pressure press, they are joined for good.
Ready to wear
Once lasted and with their soles on, the shoes travel through a thermal stabilising tunnel. This process sets the shape of the leather for good so it never loses its structure over time. When they come out, they rest on our shelves, ready for the final touches.
Behind the scenes
Before leaving the factory, every shoe goes through the finishing area. Here any residue is cleaned off, loose threads are trimmed, the insoles are fitted, the leather is polished and each pair is inspected with a magnifying glass to make sure it is flawless.
Straight to your feet
The big moment! Our team carefully checks every boot one last time, wraps it gently in protective paper and places it proudly in its Calzados Pas box. We put all our care into the packaging so that opening them at home is as special an experience as wearing them for the first time.
